A round table on DeFi for savers will be held

DeFi Lab is a Spanish-speaking, decentralized finance community, and organizes a roundtable called „Are decentralized finances (DeFi) an alternative for savers? It will take place on September 10th at 7pm (Spanish time CEST). This was reported to Cointelegraph en Español, from that community in Spain, through a statement.

„In the current context of zero or negative interest rates in most developed economies, it seems that savers have little space. Traditional deposits are even disappearing from the product portfolios of well-known and widespread commercial banks. On the other hand, in a framework of deep financial uncertainty, interest rates on short-term sovereign debt of the countries of the Euro Zone, as well as the United Kingdom, are negative. At most, it reaches a meager 0.1% in others, such as the United States,“ explained the organizers.

„It should be noted that, since late 2019 and early 2020, several decentralized finance protocols known as DeFi are offering daily deposits in cryptom currencies linked to the US dollar, also known as stablecoins to the USD. In COMPOUND or AAVE you can deposit DAI, USDC, USDT, PAX, sUSD with interest rates above 2% in many cases. In addition, some exchange houses are offering to pay you if you deposit your DAI (stable currency to the USD) interest rates higher than 2%“, they added later

They believe that this context may push savers to look over the wall of traditional financial products. From such an impulse, it seems pertinent to ask whether the gaze is directed at the DeFi. Such a question is the backbone of the meeting organized by DeFi Lab. Those interested in participating can enter here.
